A message from Spectrum Health

Dear patients of Spectrum,

As another pandemic year comes to a close, we would like to acknowledge the resilience our community has shown in 2021.  You have not only managed to navigate the complexities of vaccination programs and public health restrictions, but some have simultaneously had to cope with flooding, heat waves, and stresses of daily life.  It takes a team to weather a storm, and we hope that you consider Spectrum a part of your success strategy.

Spectrum will remain open with a slightly reduced schedule over the holidays.  Our hours of operation are as follows:

December 20 – 23:  9am-5pm
December 24 – 26:  closed
December 27 – 30:  9am-5pm
December 31 – Jan 2: closed
Remember that for urgent medical issues outside of clinic hours, there is a physician on-call at (778) 838-6500.

We’ve had a significant loss this year at Spectrum.  One of our founding physicians, and an outstanding figure in the history of HIV/AIDS in Vancouver died this year.  Dr. Brian Willoughby was a brilliant, caring doctor and mentor to many.  We are all saddened by his passing, though his inquisitive spirit lives on in our clinic.

It can be difficult to reflect positively on the challenging year we’ve had.  However, we encourage you to recall the moments of brightness, express gratitude for them, and continue to find meaning and purpose in life for 2022.

– Your Spectrum Health Team
