Changes to Prescription Refill Process

Due to changes in provincial legislation, St. Paul Hospital pharmacy is no longer able to prepare medications in advance of having a written prescription. In order to reduce confusion and wait times, we are implementing the following changes to our prescription refill process.

If you pick up your ARV medication at St. Paul’s pharmacy:

1. Get your bloodwork done by booking an appointment with the lab where your standing order is:
St. Paul’s Lab: https://www.labonlinebooking.ca/login
Lifelabs: https://www.lifelabs.com/book-an-appointment

2. Call St. Paul’s pharmacy at 604-806-8151 to book an appointment/set up your pick up date.

3. Call Spectrum Health to request for your prescription to be faxed to the pharmacy at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment/pick up date. We will then fax your prescription to ensure that the pharmacy has adequate time to prepare your medication. If you have an in-person visit in the clinic and would like to request for your ARV medication prescription at the same time, make sure it is at least 48 hours prior to your pick up date at the pharmacy. We will then fax your prescription to ensure that the pharmacy has adequate time to prepare your medication. If you’re unable to request and pick up your medication before you run out, present yourself to the pharmacy to get a 2 week emergency supply.
